About TVM SCHOOLHOUSE INC
OfficeTVM Schoolhouse began its life as St. Peter's Elementary School. The building served the community for many years as an elementary school as well as a community gymnasium and a 1000 seat auditorium. It is a heritage property with a long history of service to the community. Fittingly, the building, once deemed surplus by the school board, was acquired by TVM and re-purposed into 48 fully accessible residential suites under the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing program.
As part of its ongoing relationship with community service providers, TVM partnered with Kawartha Participation Project "KPP" to construct the suites with KPP's clients in mind. TVM created a community space in the building as well as an office for KPP to ensure that its important services are able to be provided in an ongoing and consistent manner.
KPP delivers services to perons living on their own in the community.
TVM Schoolhouse has now found a new life and continues to deliver benefit to its community. It is the first fully accessible, heritage designated, affordable housing building in the province.
