About TVM PORT HOPE INC
TVM Port Hope is a beautiful heritage building located in the transitional area of the town; between downtown and the residential sections. The building originally served the community as the main primary school at the gymnasium. TVM converted the building into 24 accessible residential suites along with an office and amenity spaces. The building and all amenities within are accessible to persons with physical disabilities. TVM has proudly restored the building to continue to serve its community in a new form for many years to come.
Special accessibility features include:
Lowered kitchen counter tops, corner-drain shallow kitchen sinks, in-counter cooktops, side opening wall mounted ovens, freezer bottom swing-door refrigerators, lowered light switches, raised electrical outlets, roll-in showers, raised commodes, ceiling fans throughout, extra wide hallways, 5 foot minimum turning radius in all hallways, bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens and visual and audible fire alarm systems.
Special Note:
TVM Port Hope is a Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Project. Rents are maintained at discounted levels, and all tenants must meet a maximum income threshold as set for the Town of Cobourg and Northumberland County.
